"I can smile now. It wasn't like that before."

Arnold Surrett heard about Smile Designs from a neighbor, who told him to go see Dr. Sergio. He came in. They hit it off straight away. He and his wife Eva have been patients ever since.

Extensive work. No runaround.

Arnold needed a lot done. He knew it. What he didn't know was whether a dentist would be straight with him about it.

Dr. Sergio was.

"He was very upfront about what needed to be done. This is what needs to be done. This is what happened. He didn't quote anything, just told me the truth."

That directness mattered. Arnold went through extensive restorative work to get his smile back. The kind of treatment that takes time, trust, and a doctor willing to have an honest conversation rather than a comfortable one.

"It was a lot of extensive work. But I can smile now. It wasn't like that before."

Every cleaning, Arnold sees the same level of care. Dr. Sergio. Dr. G. A staff that understands what it feels like to walk in nervous.

"The dentist and their staff are very caring people. They understand your fears when you come in."

But there was something else Arnold noticed, something he didn't expect.

"I'm from Trinidad. And one of the staff was from my country. He has a very diverse staff, something I'm sure a new patient would appreciate. You're sure to meet somebody you know, or somebody who's related to where you're from."

Walking into a room where someone shares your background, your accent, your frame of reference, it's a small thing that isn't small at all.

For anyone nervous

Arnold's answer is simple. He came in as a stranger on a neighbor's recommendation. Now he and his wife can't imagine going anywhere else.

"We have been very happy here. I don't think we'll go to any place else."
